FAQs

Does is matter if I book alone?

Absolutely not, we get a lot of individual travellers booking. You will be joining a small group of like minded people and have your own space in the afternoons and evening if you want it… However most tend to enjoy a good chat around the camp fire after a day on trail!

What airline do you recommend?

Avianca Airlines are safe, reliable, friendly and very accommodating. We always use them and recommend them to family and friends. However Rancho Saman can’t accept any responsibility for flight delays or cancellations. We would always recommend arriving into the country a few days before your trail ride.

Do I need to take malaria tablets?

We do not enter any areas affected by malaria. However if you plan to travel elsewhere in the region before or after your trail you may want to look into it.

Are flights included and if not can you arrange them?

Flights are not included and are entirely your responsibility. We cannot assist with booking flights but we do recommend arriving into the country at least two days before your trail ride with us.

Is insurance included?

No. You must organise your own insurance and it must include cover for horse riding activities and cover for medical expenses and repatriation costs should you become too ill to continue your trip. Rancho Saman S.A.S pays a public liability insurance in line with Colombian law, however you will not be able to ride with us without your own personal travel insurance.

Do I need a visa to travel to Colombia?

Most visitors do not need to make special arrangements for trips under 90 days, however you should check this before travelling as it will depend on your nationality. We will send you general visa information when your booking is confirmed.
